Industrial designer David Ball specialises in a range of global consumer products spanning different industry sectors. With Plew Plew, he continues to fulfil his long-term ambition to create new, uber-functional products.
Plew Plew Home Storage is a growing collection of own-design racks and organisers. All individually handmade from a single length of polished stainless steel wire. True minimalist designs inspired from the beautiful simplicity of the iconic paper clip and staple.
Inspiration has further come from the desire to create simpler products to balance the complex world we live in along with the ethos of "less is more".
Looking ahead, Plew Plew is to be built into a global consumer brand representing strong British design.
Installation - home storage
- Where necessary use a spirit level or follow the line (or grout line) of the surface product is being attached to.
- Mark the position of the first hole.
- We then suggest drilling a 3mm diameter pilot hole (a few mm deep at most).
- NOTE to take care when drilling, for example, on the inside surface of a cabinet door to not drill too deep and drill through to the front surface.
- Have ready the correct sized screwdriver.
- Fix this first screw in place and position the product in place against it.
- Then mark position of second hole.
- Repeat pilot hole process as in point 3.
- For a finished look, screw the 10mm diameter chrome plated cover into the included mirror screws.
- When using the plastic rawl plugs supplied, drill a pilot hole with 6mm diameter.
- NOTE the wood screws and plastic rawl plugs supplied should only be used for wood and brick walls respectively. For fixing to other wall/surface structures, we suggest a visit to your local DIY store for their advice.
